SKA Data and Signal Processing workshop

The 1-day SKA Data and Signal Processing workshop on Monday 15th of February will bring together industry and academia to discuss data and signal processing as well as other topics of advanced computing and networking related to the SKA (Square Kilometre Array) and radio astronomy.

Aust/NZ Workshop in SKA Data and Signal Processing

The workshop aims establishing a framework for New Zealand research and industry in engaging with Australian SKA Research and Development related to data and signal processing.

When: 10:00 - 17: 00, February 15, 2010
Where: Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand

The format for the workshop will be for presentations in the morning and early afternoon with a brief panel discussion to conclude.

  • Computer architectures for ASKAP and SKA data processing
  • Peta-scale data intensive research challenges for the SKA
  • Signal processing and data volume challenges when studying the Universe at high time resolution
  • Computational challenges in Transient Radio Emission Array Detectors
  • iVEC and the Pawsey Centre: A petascale computer focused on radio astronomy

The meeting is generously sponsored by the New Zealand Foundation for Research, Science and Technology and registration has been waived, however participants are asked to indicate their attendance by Monday 8th of February for catering purposes.
