Sakai is an open source virtual collaboration and learning environment that supports teaching and learning, and group collaboration. New Zealand's BeSTGRID project has developed a Sakai Virtual Research Environment to support collaboration and communication within the New Zealand scientific and research community.
EVO is a collaboration system that supports point-to-point and multipoint collaborative sessions. EVO users can communicate using audio, video and instant messaging, exchange files and share desktop applications. BeSTGRID provides information on the equipment required and how to get started with EVO.
Eduroam (education roaming) is a roaming wireless network, allowing mobility between participants' wireless infrastructure with seamless user authentication and enforcement of local security policy. Eduroam is now available at the University of Auckland for visitors from other eduroam participating federations. Eduroam in New Zealand is coordinated by the University of Auckland.
