What you’ll be doing:We are looking for a Junior Network Engineer who we can mentor and bring through the ranks. You will be working in a small team of 3 people in Auckland, and will have opportunities to travel to work on some projects and collaborate with the rest of the NZ team. You will be joining a small team of highly skilled Engineers, working alongside and supporting some of the best in New Zealand. Primary duties will include:
Operation of the network including physical installations, ticket management/troubleshooting and the ongoing maintenance of documentation.
Support Project Managers and Senior Network Engineers by co-ordinating services ensuring that timelines and budgets are adhered to.
Contribute to automation by ensuring the use of existing tools and scripts and contribute to the further development of automated network management, measurement, and monitoring functions.
Participate in automation projects under the direction and guidance of senior network engineers.
What you’ll need to be successful:
Knowledge of, or an interest in, the New Zealand telecommunications market
Passion for, and an ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and concepts
Good judgment ensuring you “do the right thing” by following the example set by the Senior Network Engineers
Clear written and verbal communications capabilities
A strong understanding of networking concepts including ethernet, TCP/IP, routing and security.
A sound understanding of programming languages and methodologies.
A sound understanding of open-source operating systems
